WINTER 2018 S*A*G Getaway

Scrappers' Anonymous Getaway is pleased to announce the location of this year's winter crop (January 12-14, 2018):  CHUBB Hotel and Conference Center, located in beautiful Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.  (Address to input into your GPS:  309 Manor Road, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.)

Your weekend will include:  single/double/triple/quad accommodations in an over sized guest room, each with balcony or patio, 5 meals (dinner Friday and Saturday nights, continental breakfast and lunch Saturday and Sunday), 24 hour cropping space, snacks and coffee service, your own table space, high speed wifi, Keurigs in your guest rooms, in room safe, hair dryers and make up mirrors, and ADA accommodations should you require same.  A bar/lounge with game room is available at an out of pocket cost.  The hotel also contains a gym/workout facilities, should you feel moved to get that exercising in while we are there.  We will also be providing a masseuse for your enjoyment - prices and sign up sheets will follow in the coming weeks.

Last Minute Details - SAG does AC

S*A*G DOES AC SCRAPPERS: This is the Final Informational post before our Fabulous Fun Weekend!

Directions: From Tabernacle, NJ-Google Maps indicates it will take approximately 55 minutes via Atlantic Expressway. So this may help you gauge your travel time for anyone who lives near me.

Arrival: Arrival at The Claridge Hotel is Friday is 12:00 noon. No one is permitted to enter the crop rooms prior to 12:00 noon, except for vendors. No exceptions. Please make sure you bring or plan your lunch ahead of time, as we will not be eating dinner until 6:00 pm. Ocean View is the name of the room where we will be cropping and it is located on the 3rd floor.

Parking: Self-parking is included with your room reservation. You may temporarily park at the front of the hotel to unload and then self-park – the self-park lot/garage is on Ohio Avenue, which runs parallel to Indiana Avenue where the front entrance of the hotel is located. IF you choose to valet park your car for the weekend, there is a nightly fee of $15.00 per day plus tax, (please keep in mind that valet parking charges are subject to change at the discretion of the hotel and you will not be notified by us of any changes) which you will be responsible for. Please do not leave your vehicle in the front of the hotel for an extended amount of time. Keep the unloading flowing.

Check-in: Official check-in is at 4:00 pm. But, you may check with the front desk to see if your room is ready. You can bring your scrapbooking things to the Ocean View crop room (located on the 3rd floor) first and worry about hotel check-in at your leisure.

Check out: Official check out time is at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Please check out of your room and place your luggage in your vehicle before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. No luggage should be brought to the crop room for storage; please place all luggage in your vehicles at the time of check out. The crop room will close at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Please plan accordingly.

Luggage Carts: There are luggage carts available. I am not sure how many are available at any one time. Regardless, please use the carts and promptly return them to the front entrance. Please do not leave them upstairs at your sleeping room or in the crop rooms. Please bring them back down to the lobby.

Registration: Please stop by the hotel registration desk for your sleeping room assignments and room keys. Please go to the SAG registration table at the scrapbooking area before starting to scrap.

Internet service: There is internet service throughout the hotel. There will be login/password information available if needed.

Crop Space/Lighting: Any of you who have attended scrapbooking events at large hotels in the past know that the lighting in large rooms can be dim in some areas and bright in others. The Claridge is no different. Your group may want to bring a floor or table lamp and an extension cord (the longer the better) to insure you have adequate lighting for your space. Ott Lights are perfect for scrapping. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is better to be prepared so you can take full advantage of this weekend away. Each scrapper will be provided a 4 foot cropping space for the weekend.

Extension Cords: The electrical outlets are very wide-spread. Please remember to bring electrical cords and power strips for you and your friends. We will do our best to make sure all tables have electric. We can be quite creative if necessary.

Dress: Please dress in layers. Sometimes it is cool, sometimes it is warm. Don't forget your slippers. We have 24-hour scrapping, so you can scrap in your jammies if you want. There is no need to worry about your scrap stuff as there is usually someone scrapping at all times. However, I recommend bringing your electronic devices (phones, laptops, iPads, cameras, etc.) up with you when you go to your room, especially since we are in a much bigger venue than we generally are.

Music: Please bring headphones for your radio/music or keep your table music low.

Electronic Cutting Systems: If you have a Cricut or some other cutting system, you may want to bring a small table (like a tv/snack table). I cannot guarantee that there will be an extra spot or tables available for your tools. I will try to accommodate your sitting areas for the extra table as long as it does not interfere with aisles/exits.

Church: There are several churches in the area. Please check with the front desk for this information.

Alcohol: Will be available at an onsite bar for purchase. Please tip your bartender well for good service.

Clothing (T-shirts and Sweatshirts) Sale: For all of you who ordered clothing on Facebook, if possible please bring cash with you for payment. I will also accept checks.

Meals: Friday: dinner 6:00-8:00 p.m.; Saturday: breakfast 7:00-9:00 a.m., dinner 5:00-7:00 p.m.; Sunday: breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Lunch is not included with this weekend; however, please feel free to explore what Atlantic City has to offer! Nearby you’ll find: Guy Fieri’s Chophouse; Boardwalk Cupcakes; Bucca diBeppo; Noodle Village; Gold Tooth Gerties; Walt’s Primo Pizza; Sack o Subs; Dunkin' Donuts; AC Snack Shack; Johnny Rockets; Harry's Oyster Bar; Rainforest Cafe, Margaritaville, just to name a few.

Drinking/Eating at your scrap tables: Please be careful - you don't want any spills on your work or your neighbor's work. A covered travel cup/mug is highly recommended. Cold water and ice will be available. Please bring your travel cups.

Entertainment: The hotel facility provides a fitness area and indoor heated pool on the 8thfloor for your use, included in your room rate for the weekend. The Claridge is no longer a gaming hotel. Should you wish to play in a casino during the weekend, simply take the elevator to the 2nd floor and walk into Bally’s Casino/Hotel for gaming options. As well, Jen Cox of Ocean Massage, will be available for chair massages on Saturday only. Massages are available in one minute increments, $1 per minute, with a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes.

Please clean up your scrap area periodically, so Laura, Donna and I do not have to. Remember, anything left behind will be photographed and posted on Facebook. Retrieval of any "lost" items will be your responsibility.

Rooms: You do not have to bring any linen, unless you have a special pillow/pillowcase. All rooms include a Keurig coffee maker, in-room safe, refrigerator, and flat screen television. The bathroom features a simple tub/shower combination with sample size toiletries and hair dryer.

Vendors: We will have several vendors on the premises. If you forget or need something, don't worry - it should be there for purchase. The vendors will have Tally sheets available, so you can "settle" with them at the end of the weekend. You may also let your friends/family know that if they would like to shop with our vendors, they can do so on Saturday between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The vendors are: CM, CTMH, Stampin' Up, Kiwi Lane, 31, Lilla Rose, Chaulk Couture (Friday night only), Page Kits by Debbie (Sunday only), LuLaRoe (by Kristin Boyden – Saturday only) and Ocean Massage Therapy (chair massages by Jen Cox on Saturday only). I hope I didn't forget anyone. If I did, I apologize.

Classes: Several of our vendors will have classes (for a fee) available to you. Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn/try new things. Take a look at each vendor's classes and sign up when you arrive.

Charity:  We will be selling and applying temporary tattoos, cost will be $10 per tattoo (cash only or proof of donation directly to fundraising page), with the proceeds benefiting the Out of the Darkness Walk of Burlington County which will take place the Saturday after our weekend, in Mt. Door prizes: There will be door prizes and gifts from S*A*G and our vendors (Chinese auction). You will receive 5 tickets for attending S*A*G and you can "earn" ADDITIONAL tickets by attending classes and purchasing from our vendors.

Hey Everybody!

Because that is what my youngest son says when he walks into a crowded room.

I just wanted to post to let everyone know that the room block at The Claridge has been closed. If you haven't made your room reservation for the October crop, you might want to call and beg for our special rate of $159 per night for 1-4 people in a room. No extra charge for parking and resort fee included in that rate. The block closed officially on the 14th, so begging is definitely in order if you're roomlesss.

Menu, time details and class schedules are being finalized this week. If you are planning on bending and have not yet filled out that registration form so we know you're coming, AND paid the vending fee, chances are, you won't be vending on October. Please, please, please,if you're planning on vending get that stuff in! It really only takes 5 minutes to do. The more we can have ready before we leave our homes for the weekend, the better.

Seating charts are also being done this week. If you put "will get back to you" as your tablemates' names, we will place you at a table that we hope you'll like. If you are still one of the few that have a balance due, today is the day to do that. Check your email that you used for registration - invoices were sent two weeks ago and again last week. No one will be entering the crop room without final payment being made.

Hopefully, all details will be readily available to give you by this time next week.

WINTER S*A*G - Registration Link and Payment Options

It is your responsibility to make your payments timely. Friendly reminders may or may not be emailed or posted.

Time is running out.  There are limited slots available to scrapbook with us for the weekend!  Mark your calendar, fill out the registration form, pay your crop fee and book your room before you miss out on one of the most fun weekends you've experienced to date!

S*A*G does AC - October 13-15, 2017 - Payment, Registration and Lodging Information

Exciting news!!  Online registrations and payments for the first ever Scrappers' Anonymous Getaway in Atlantic City, NJ - S*A*G does AC - Registration is open now and will be limited to the first 50 respondents (with deposit and completed registration form filled out.)  This is a new and thrilling venue for S*A*G; take your time to read all of the information below because things are a little different this time around.   Feel free to post any questions here on the blog comments OR on the Facebook page so that we can help and assist to the best of our ability.

Because S*A*G is booked with a major hotel in Atlantic City this fall, registrations will be done in two pieces. Every person attending the weekend to scrapbook must fill out the registration form located here: Registration Form and Miscellaneous Info and each person must pay a deposit or in full via the paypal button at the bottom this page. This button is for your crop room and meals ONLY.  After you have completed the registration through the link above, you will receive a message pop-up on your screen to let you know you have finished the registration.  If you do not receive that pop-up, you are not done.  The last thing you do is sign your name and date at the bottom.  You will not receive an email confirmation.  Your hotel will be booked directly through the hotel.  One representative from each room must make the hotel reservation as noted below.

Each representative for the hotel room must make the reservations for their group by either calling 1-844-AC-IS-FUN OR by going online at CLARIDGE - SCRAPPERS' ANONYMOUS WEEKEND. By phone, each "Room Leader" must identify themselves as members of the Group by using the code SCRAPP no later than September 14, 2017.  All reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.  The group rate for the rooms is $159 plus taxes/fees per night (NJ taxes/AC taxes). Group Rates are available for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Remember:  Only ONE person per room will book the room and will coordinate roommates and collect payments directly from your roommates ("Room Leader").  

If you use the above link to book your room rather than calling, please note that the system will only allow you to book for two people per room. It's okay, even if you are booking for 3 or 4 people. The additional persons will be added upon check in (or by phone earlier if you desire to call.)  The S*A*G weekend rate also includes the resort fee ($15) and parking ($12) as part of your $159 rate, so ignore the prompts on the online page that will tell you that the $15 resort fee will be paid at check out and parking is $12. However, if you choose to valet park instead of self park, you will be charged a nightly fee.  This is for the HOTEL only and every scrapper still needs to fill out the registration form and pay their crop fee via the links on this page. 
FINE PRINT from The Claridge Hotel:   
Reservations that are cancelled after 4 PM two (2) days prior to arrival (48 hours) will result in one night's room and tax charge to be forfeited. Any reservations made after the contracted cut-off date are on a space availability basis at the then current rack rate. 
ROOM CHARGES AND INCIDENTALS:  All guests are required to provide a credit card guarantee at check-in to cover room charges and incidentals.  These are not covered by S*A*G.
EARLY DEPARTURE FEE:  In the event, that a guest who has reserved a room within your blocks checks out prior to the guest’s reserved checkout date, an early departure fee of $50 will be charged to that guest’s individual account. Guests wishing to avoid this fee must advise the hotel at or before check-in. The hotel will deduct any such fees that are collected from any amount you may owe as sleeping room attrition.
FEES FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES:  The hotel provides a variety of facilities and services not specifically described in this contract, which are available to groups and individuals at additional charge. A list of the hotel’s pricing for these facilities is available to individual guests upon request.
Make your CROP FEE Payments by using this drop down payment button via Paypal.  Credit cards are accepted through this link.  No checks are to be mailed to S*A*G at this time.  Only online payments will be accepted. When you make your selection, the Paypal page will open and there will be a box for purchase details. Please place your full name, email address and phone number in this selection.
